Playcycle Terms of Service

Playcycle Terms of Service

Last Updated: 02/21/2026

Welcome to Playcycle. By subscribing to our service, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. The Service

Playcycle provides a subscription-based toy rental service. We deliver curated sets of toys to your home and exchange them at scheduled intervals ("Swaps"). All toys remain the sole property of Playcycle.

2. Subscription & Billing

  • Billing Cycle: Subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly basis starting from your first order date.
  • Cancellations: You may cancel at any time via your Member Dashboard. To avoid being charged for the next cycle, cancellations must be made at least 5 days before your next billing date.
  • Refunds: We do not offer prorated refunds for mid-month cancellations.

3. Delivery & Swaps

  • Access: It is the subscriber's responsibility to ensure our courier has access to the delivery location (Condo security, concierge, or doorstep).
  • Missed Deliveries: If a swap fails due to the subscriber's unavailability or failure to leave the return bag out, a $15 re-delivery fee will apply.
  • Logistics: Delivery is currently limited to mainland Singapore. Restricted zones may incur a surcharge.

4. Hygiene & Safety

  • Our Responsibility: Every toy undergoes a 5-step sanitization process using hospital-grade UVC light and child-safe, non-toxic cleaners (e.g., Twinkle Baby Multi-Purpose Cleaner).
  • Subscriber Responsibility: Please return toys in a "reasonably clean" state. Remove any food debris or heavy soil before the swap. Do not use harsh chemicals (bleach/solvents) on the toys, as this may damage the materials and void safety standards.
  • Liability Waiver: While we maintain high safety standards, Playcycle is not liable for any injuries, allergic reactions, or accidents resulting from the use of rented toys. Adult supervision is required at all times.

5. Damage, Loss & The "Peace of Mind" Waiver

  • Normal Wear & Tear: Expected minor scuffs and scratches are free of charge.
  • Major Damage: If a toy is returned broken, snapped, or unsafe for the next child, the subscriber is liable for the replacement cost (MSRP), unless the Damage Waiver was purchased.
  • Missing Pieces: A grace period of one swap cycle is given to find missing parts. If a vital piece is permanently lost, a replacement fee of $2–$10 (depending on the toy) will be charged.
  • Damage Waiver: If purchased, this covers accidental breakage and permanent stains. It does not cover the loss of the entire toy or intentional misuse.

6. Intellectual Property

All website content, the "Playcycle" name, logos, and "Toy Passport" descriptions are the intellectual property of Playcycle and may not be used without permission.

Liability Waiver & Release of Claims

1. Assumption of Risk

By subscribing to PLAYCYCLE , you acknowledge that toys, by their nature, carry inherent risks (including but not limited to choking hazards, small parts, or sharp edges). You agree that the use of any equipment or toys borrowed from the Library is at the sole risk of the Member and the minor(s) under their care.

2. Condition of Toys

  • Inspection: While the Library cleans and inspects toys upon return, it is the Member’s responsibility to inspect toys for safety and cleanliness before giving them to a child.
  • Reporting: Any broken or dangerous items must be reported immediately and removed from use.

3. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law:

  • Personal Injury: PLAYCYCLE shall not be liable for any injury or death resulting from the use of borrowed toys, except where such injury is caused by the proven gross negligence of the Library.
  • Property Damage: The Library is not responsible for any damage to the Member’s property (e.g., floors, furniture) caused by the use of borrowed toys.
  • Maximum Liability: In any event, the Library’s total liability for any claim arising out of the subscription shall not exceed the total amount of subscription fees paid by the Member in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

4. Indemnification

The Member agrees to indemnify and hold harmless PLAYCYCLE, its owners, and employees against any and all claims, actions, or demands arising out of the Member’s (or their child’s) use of the toys or breach of these Terms.

5. Age Appropriateness

The Library provides manufacturer age recommendations as a guide only. The Member is solely responsible for determining if a toy is developmentally appropriate and safe for their specific child.

Supervision and Safety Duty

1. Parental/Guardian Responsibility

The Member acknowledges and agrees that PLAYCYCLE does not provide supervision or childcare services.

  • Constant Supervision: All toys and equipment borrowed must be used under the direct and constant supervision of a competent adult at all times.
  • Safe Environment: The Member is responsible for ensuring that the environment in which the toy is used is safe and free from hazards (e.g., ensuring ride-on toys are used away from stairs or traffic).

2. Compliance with Age Ratings

  • Manufacturer Guidelines: Members must strictly adhere to the manufacturer’s age ratings and safety instructions provided with the toy.
  • Non-Target Use: Toys intended for older children must be kept out of reach of younger siblings or infants, particularly regarding items with small parts that pose a choking hazard.

3. Duty to Stop Use

If a toy becomes damaged, frayed, or develops sharp edges during the loan period, the Member has an immediate Duty to Stop Use. Continued use of a compromised toy constitutes a waiver of any claim against the Library for subsequent injuries.
