PDPA PlayCycle Privacy Policy

At PlayCycle, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information in accordance with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

1. Information We Collect

To provide our toy rental service, we collect the following:

  • Identity Data: Name and your child's age/birth month (to curate age-appropriate toys).
  • Contact Data: Email address and mobile number (for WhatsApp updates and delivery notifications).
  • Delivery Data: Residential address for toy swaps.
  • Payment Data: Credit/debit card details (processed securely via [Stripe/PayPal]; PlayCycle does not store your full card numbers).

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your information solely to:

  • Manage your subscription and process payments.
  • Coordinate logistics and "Swap Day" deliveries via our courier partners.
  • Send you "Toy Passports," safety updates, and hygiene tips.
  • Communicate via WhatsApp regarding your specific account or missing pieces.
  • (Only with your consent) Send you newsletters or referral rewards.

3. Disclosure of Personal Data

We do not sell your data. We only share necessary information with trusted third parties to run our business:

  • Logistics Partners: Your address and phone number are shared with our couriers to complete deliveries.
  • Payment Processors: To securely handle subscription billing.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by Singapore law to protect our rights or comply with a judicial proceeding.

4. Data Security & Retention

We implement industry-standard security measures to prevent unauthorized access to your data. We retain your personal data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services.

5. Your Rights

Under the PDPA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request a correction to any inaccurate data.
  • Withdraw your consent for marketing communications at any time.

Implementation Tips for PlayCycle:

  1. Marketing Opt-In: On your sign-up form, have a separate (un-ticked) box that says: "I'd like to receive play tips, eco-news, and special offers from PlayCycle via email." (This keeps you compliant with anti-spam laws).
  2. The WhatsApp Connection: Since you'll be using WhatsApp, ensure your WhatsApp Business profile also links back to this Privacy Policy.
  3. Data Deletion: If a customer cancels their subscription and asks to be "forgotten," ensure you have a process to delete their address from your delivery logs.
